2025 Ford Mustang GTD

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is the pinnacle of high-performance Mustang engineering. The limited-production supercar tests the boundaries of street legality with its supercharged V8, race-bred suspension, and innovative drag reduction system.

Blistering Top Speed

Powered by a Ford Performance-developed 5.2L supercharged V8, the Mustang GTD lets loose 815 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque on the racetrack. A race-inspired RWD drivetrain transfers power to the rear wheels, staying true to Mustang heritage and improving acceleration, and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission provides lightning-fast shifts that lower lap times. When put to the test, the supercar explodes off the line and reaches a vision-blurring top speed of 202 mph.

Exceptional Maneuverability

The Mustang GTD is the only American-made production car to complete a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap in under seven minutes. Much of the supercar’s maneuverability comes from its lightweight body, near-perfect weight distribution and state-of-the-art suspension system. The Mustang GTD’s body incorporates lightweight carbon fiber and titanium, reducing inertia compared to traditional aluminum constructions and making steering more responsive. Carbon fiber is also used in the driveshaft, which is connected to a rear transaxle for a nearly 50-50 weight distribution.

A track-worthy semi-active suspension system underpins the Mustang GTD. The setup features an inboard rear suspension with Multimatic DSSV technology for surgically precise control of damping forces. The suspension system is also the first of its kind to offer a dual-ride height function that allows drivers to lower the supercar’s chassis by 40mm at the press of a button.

Road-Gripping Downforce

The supercar generates tremendous downforce to maintain reliable traction at high speeds. A low profile, a C-pillar mounted aero rear wing, and an underbody aerodynamic tray help redirect airflow above the vehicle to keep its wheels planted.

A revolutionary Drag Reduction System (DRS) further improves the Mustang GTD’s aerodynamic efficiency by actively managing airflow. It works by using hydraulics to adjust various body elements. For instance, it can adjust the angle of the rear wing and open and close the front underbody flaps. When the supercar turns a corner at high speeds, the DRS closes the main wing element and underbody flaps to create an integrated airfoil that maximizes downforce.

Tremendous Braking Power

Standard carbon ceramic Brembo anti-lock front brakes provide exceptional braking power to stop the Mustang GTD. The setup incorporates six-piston calipers and large brake rotors to generate tremendous friction. Multi-purpose front fender vents directly in front of the wheels supply the brakes with cool air to prevent them from overheating.
