The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning delivers the performance and toughness you’d expect from Ford without the hefty gas bills of a full-size pickup truck. Its work-ready electric muscle and advanced technology earned it multiple awards for the 2024 model year, including the prestigious Edmunds Top Rated Electric Truck.
Dominating Power and Torque
A dual motor setup, with one motor driving the front axle and the other in the rear, forms a vigorous electric all-wheel drive (AWD) system that propels the F-150 Lightning. The powertrain zaps 452 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque in its standard configuration, but opting for the Flash or Lariat trim level with the extended-range battery boosts the power output to 580 hp.
Benefiting from near-instant electric torque and AWD, the F-150 Lightning achieves a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds with the extended-range battery. When it’s time to perform at the job site, the pickup truck can channel its power to tow 10,000 lbs and haul 2,000 lbs.
Exceptional Electric Range
You can drive 240 miles without stopping to charge in the F-150 Lightning XLT. The Platinum trim level offers an improved electric range of 300 miles, while the Flash and Lariat trim levels can cover up to 320 miles on a single charge.
The F-150 Lightning supports both AC and DC chargers, so you can choose to recharge the battery overnight at home or get back on the road quickly by plugging it into a DC fast charger. The standard 98 kWh battery recharges from 15% to 80% in just 32 minutes when connected to a 150+ kW DC fast charger.
Versatile Backup Power Features
Trucks are often needed for jobs beyond the pavement, where the grid is unavailable. In such situations, the F-150 Lightning’s Pro Power Onboard turns it into a mobile generator, letting you plug in and fire up your tools. There are 11 available outlets, including a 240 V one for welding equipment and air compressors.
The outdoors is not the only place the pickup truck’s backup power capabilities come in handy. If the grid is down, the F-150 Lightning can power your home via the Ford Charge Station Pro for up to 10 days.
Smart Towing Technology
The pickup truck comes loaded with technologies to make your job easier, such as Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which allows you to control trailers via a knob while reversing. Smart Hitch helps you manage weight distribution by estimating the trailer tongue weight. The Max Trailer Tow Package adds even more features, such as a trailer brake control that allows you to apply varying amounts of braking power to the trailer.
